SAP SuccessFactors (Success Factors, SFSF) is an innovative platform that supports human capital development, including HR and payroll management, employee evaluations and performance management, teamwork, recruitment, e-learning and compensation management, as well as advanced solutions for monitoring and reporting HR processes and data, all comprehensively supported by the potential of artificial intelligence and process automation, for a better employee experience (Employee Experience).

SuccessFactors’ solutions are delivered in a cloud model. By relying on ready-made templates, you can quickly develop an optimal and fully scalable solution, tailored to the needs of your business. Employee Central, often referred to as EC or Core HR, is the central HR module of SAP SuccessFactors. It organizes employee data, organizational structure, positions, service relationships and core HR processes into a single system, creating a consistent data source for the rest of HCM.

Employee Central Payroll, known in projects as ECP or EC Payroll, is responsible for calculating payroll in close integration with HR data from Employee Central. This ensures that the payroll process benefits from up-to-date information on employment, working hours, absenteeism and organizational changes.

Time Tracking supports time records, absenteeism and scheduling, as well as time management processes and preparation of data for payroll. It helps organize information on employee availability, time worked and absences, increasing the consistency of data used by HR, managers and payroll.

The Compensation & Rewards area supports the planning and communication of payroll decisions. Compensation enables the planning of salaries, raises and salary budgets, supporting the compensation planning process. Variable Pay supports bonuses and variable pay components, especially in organizations where bonuses depend on individual, team or company performance.

Benefits supports the management of employee benefits, perks and entitlements, helping to organize the administration of non-wage programs. The module facilitates the handling of benefit packages, assignment of entitlements and communication of benefits available to employees.

The Talent Acquisition area supports the organization in attracting and deploying employees. Recruiting, often functioning under the acronym RCM, handles the recruitment process from the notification of a vacancy to the selection of the person to be hired. Recruiting Marketing, known as RMK, helps build employer branding, run career pages, execute recruitment campaigns and develop a positive candidate experience even before applying. The whole process is complemented by Onboarding, or ONB, which guides new employees through tasks, documents, paperwork and their first steps in the organization.

Learning is an LMS training platform for managing training, certifications, development paths and compliance with internal or regulatory requirements. Combined with Development Planning, it supports the creation of individual development plans, competence development, internal mobility and career discussions. This allows the organization to not only implement mandatory training, but also to proactively develop employee potential and build a culture of continuous learning.

The Performance Management area includes the Performance & Goals module, or PMGM, for managing goals, performance appraisals, feedback and development conversations. Continuous Performance Management extends traditional appraisals with ongoing feedback, check-ins and management conversations, so that performance management is not limited to an annual cycle. It is complemented by 360 Reviews, a 360-degree assessment tool that collects feedback from supervisors, co-workers, subordinates and others who interact with the employee.

This area combines succession, talent development and internal mobility. Career and Talent Development includes career planning, competency development, identifying successors and building development paths. Succession helps identify successors for key positions, analyze candidate readiness and reduce the risk of critical vacancies. Opportunity Marketplace acts as an internal development marketplace, connecting employees with projects, assignments, mentoring, roles and other experiential opportunities.

SAP SuccessFactors ‘ analytics layer includes People Analytics / Reporting, including Report Center and Story Reports to analyze HR data from various system modules. Workforce Analytics, or WFA, provides the metrics, reports and dashboards needed to assess the effectiveness of HR processes and the health of the organization. Workforce Planning, or WFP, supports strategic workforce planning, scenario modeling and identification of competency or staffing gaps.

The work of HR, managers and employees with SuccessFactors is increasingly complemented by SAP Business AI functions and Joule Assistant. Among other things, they help generate content, search for information, prepare summaries, make recommendations and automate selected tasks in HR processes.

SAP SuccessFactors Platform provides the technical foundation for the entire environment. It includes system administration, roles and permissions, workflow, integrations, process configuration, and the tools needed to maintain a consistent and secure HR landscape in the cloud.

What's next for HR at SAP? Dilemmas for today and tomorrow
