Go Forward: better results of SAP implementations thanks to the new BCC methodology

Since October, this year, BCC has been applying a new version of the implementation methodology – Go Forward. The new BCC methodology uses the unique elements facilitating the implementation: among others the engagement of the BCC service organization during the project, creation of the solution concept in the graphical form in BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) standard, and the project portal, developed in the MS Sharepoint environment.

“Since the development of the first version in the year 1998, the BCC methodology has been constantly expanded. In the last time, there was a lot of modifications and they resulted not only from our experience in the executions of tens of SAP projects in Poland and several countries from all over the world. We have also taken into consideration the evolution of thinking about the IT solutions in a company. More and more we perceive them in the context of not a one-time project, but in the context of the entire lifecycle – from the implementation, through the effective usage till the maintenance and development” – says Michał Kunze, BCC Project Office Manager.

Therefore, to the new version of BCC methodology – Go Forward – the new, unique elements were introduced, which allow BCC customers to achieve better results of SAP projects – in a form of optimizations in the business, achieved through the effective usage and maintenance of SAP solution.

At present, apart from the implementation consultants, the BCC service consultants participate in the selected project tasks. Thanks to it, the customer takes advantage – during going live and directly after it – of the support of the BCC service organization, working according to ISO 20000 standards and the code of good practices. The go-live process is executed more smoothly, and the users of the new system may concentrate on own standard duties.

According to the guidelines of Go Forward, during the establishment of the SAP solution concept, we use the BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) standard, which in the graphical form reflects the model and developed processes. The starting point are the model processes, depicted in a form of the understandable diagrams. The work on the concept consists in their verification and adaptation. The usage of the graphical form, which is understandable for all participants, enables achievement of a better effect: target solution is adapted better to the company’s needs. Thus thanks to the usage of the predefined model processes, the implementation teams may concentrate on the business optimization.

The project portal, which is developed in MS SharePoint environment, is made available to the project participants. It establishes the virtual work environment for the persons engaged in the project – they have permanent access to the project documents and current information about the status and work progress from any place all over the world. Thanks to the appliance of the portal, the implementation works are executed more efficiently, and the project participants may concentrate on the work on project deliverables.

“These elements distinguish Go Forward among other methodologies applied in SAP projects. Therefore, we place the pressure not only on the implementation work optimization, but also on the achievement of progress in the management. The Go Forward methodology establishes excellent conditions for the achievement of this goal” – summarizes Michał Kunze.
