Adapting SAP to mandatory e-invoicing in large manufacturing organizations goes far beyond the technical process of sending a document. It is part of a broader process that encompasses data from the ERP system, vendor management, status monitoring, compliance with local regulations, and the continuity of operations in finance departments.
These objectives guided the implementation of an e-invoicing solution for the Belgian branch of a global tire manufacturer. The system is now in production and supports the exchange of electronic invoices in a format compliant with Peppol requirements.
This is yet another project that demonstrates All for One’s expertise in SAP compliance and international e-invoicing. The implementation was carried out for a manufacturing organization operating in a complex SAP environment, where invoicing is part of a broader process encompassing sales, logistics, procurement, and finance.
Peppol in a large-scale organization
The tire industry is an example of a business characterized by large-scale operations, intensive document exchange, and complex relationships with customers and suppliers. The solution implemented by All for One enables SAP-Peppol integration via the All for One E-Invoice HUB. The hub acts as an integration layer that enables the exchange of electronic documents with various B2B and B2G platforms without the need to create multiple separate connections for each scenario.
In practice, this means:
- SAP integration with the Peppol e-invoice exchange process,
- support for structured electronic documents,
- the ability to monitor statuses and messages,
- preparing the architecture for upcoming e-invoicing requirements in Europe,
- drawing on experience from over 120 implementations All for One KSeF for companies using SAP.
Less complexity thanks to the “mandatory + PDF” approach
In Peppol All for One projects , the “mandatory + PDF” approach is used . The electronic structure maps the data required by regulations and the e-invoicing standard, while additional business context can be provided in the form of a human-readable PDF attachment. This approach helps reduce the complexity of data mapping, shorten the analysis phase, and ensure a convenient experience for the document recipient.
E-invoicing as part of a compliance strategy
The go-live at a Belgian tire company demonstrates that integrating SAP with Peppol can be implemented in a scalable and secure manner, even within large, international manufacturing organizations.
